Thermal-Mechanical Fatigue Behavior and Life Assessment of Single Crystal Nickel-Based Superalloy

Thermal-mechanical fatigue (TMF) tests and isothermal (IF) were conducted using thin-walled tubular specimens under strain-controlled conditions. The results of TMF showed a strong correlation between mechanical behavior temperature cycling. Under different phases loading, the hysteresis loop mean stress single crystal superalloy noticeable variations stress-controlled In test, cycling led to asymmetry additional damage, resulting in significantly lower life compared IF at maximum temperature. Moreover, OP is generally than that IP same strain amplitude. Walker viscoplastic constitutive model based on slip systems was used analyze superalloy, change trends Schmid stress, shear rate, range analyzed, their relationship with investigated. Finally, prediction independent loading mode phase constructed meso-mechanical damage parameters. predicted lives for load control modes fell within twofold dispersion band.
